a tale of participation…
Today we chatted about what we would need to learn in order to successfully complete this course… and (of course) to get the most out of it.
How would we participate in the course?
Breaking it down in to three sections, what would we need in terms of research skills, what would we need to do on a personal and professional level, and what would we need to achieve technically to achieve the esteemed honour of a high distinction in Networked Media this summer?? *nudge*
Research would be a good starting point. This might involve looking at other blogs, reading analysis and academic papers on blogs and other networked media, finding books on basic html in the library and familiarising ourselves with the software. Let’s learn how to make it before we decide what content goes in.
Following our research, some technical skills would probably be useful in implementing our outstanding ideas and breathtaking concepts. For this, we will (unfortunately) have to learn the software and learn the language of html, after we learn how to turn on the computer.
For our personal and professional development in the course, a good start might be time management, involving yourself in the online environment and trying to push yourself outside your comfort zome – involving yourself in new aspects of online publishing and experimenting with new ideas.
AND read the dossier!
Follow this method, and there is no doubt that astounding works of staggering genius will be produced in no time with limited effort and little bloodshed.
Excelsior!!!!
[...] But first, let’s look back on my previous reflections on participation. I started here, reassessed my goals here, and concluded somewhat here. [...]
