pacific plastic soup
I am not really sure what dismayed me most about this story — the fact that there is a puddle of plastic floating in the pacific ocean that is larger than the US continent, or the fact that no one bothered to tell us about it.
I am all for saving whales, but I guess that cause becomes somewhat redundant when they are condemned to a life of swallowing shopping bags and milk bottle caps.
A short documentary called Alphabet Soup was made, highlighting this astounding and horrifying issue. I hope to host it eventually on my blog, but in the meantime you can watch it here.
Sometimes this world is so fucked up.
Much less plastic for me.
